WASHINGTON, D.C.: This Finnish film directed by Inari Niemi follows Helena, recently divorced, as she spends Christmas with her friend on a Finnish farm. Following the film there will be a Finnish-themed reception. The Phillips Collection's Nordic Film Series accompanies the exhibition Nordic Impressions, which runs through January 13.
The theme of the annual holiday show is "A Nordic Celebration of the WInter Solstice," at the Sanders Theatre at Harvard University in Cambridge. CHICAGO: Finnladies and Chicago Suomi Koulu will perform at 11 a.m. as part of the annual celebration of Christmas and holiday traditions of cultures across the globe. The festive exhibit of more than 50 decorated trees and displays runs from November 15-January 6.
