Public Saunas

Perhaps you have a good old sauna in the neighborhood. Or, one might roll into your neighborhood. Mobile saunas, complete with wood stoves, are popping up at sites across the U.S., and are also available for private rentals.

Here are some of the permanent traditional saunas and pop-up or mobile saunas across the U.S. that are open to the public. With just a few exceptions, the list does not include saunas at spas, resorts, gyms, etc. NOTE: This list is just for reference and not an endorsement of these businesses. If you have a suggestion to add to the list, please forward the name and location to office@finlandiafoundation.org.

The North American Sauna Society is in the midst of a project to research and rate public saunas, and SaunaTimes maintains a mapped list.

Did you know?
With nearly three dozen public saunas, the City of Tampere, Finland, has declared itself the Sauna Capital of the World.
