Pat Turner will explain the significance of these 100-plus year-old documents and how they were acquired by the Beechwood Historical Society. A potluck supper precedes the presentation.

Organist Kent Washburn presents a special musical movie event: A live performance of Finnish classical and folk music arranged for organ, violin, and piano as the original soundtrack for the Finnish silent film "Laveata Tietä" (The Wide Road). . He will be joined by Tuulikki Tammi on violin and a pianist.
Using archival footage, letters from the front and recent interviews, this documentary explores the prolonged psychological effects of Finland’s wars on individuals and the nation. Director Ari Matikainen also skillfully puts those wars in the broader worldwide context of World War II.
