The annual celebration of snow culminates a month-long celebration featuring a variety of workshops, films and family-friendly fun in Hancock and at Finlandia University. The day's activities include two tori markets, parade, karhunpeijäset (circle dance), outdoor gams, author talk and iltamat (dance and buffet dinner).
Finnish oven pancake, bacon, sausage, fruit, juice, Finnish coffee bread, coffee/tea/cocoa. $10. Loaves of coffee bread also for sale. Vendors include artist Karen Kemp, Son of a Bee and Lark Knits. Birch bark weaver Elaine Moe will demonstrate how she prepares bark.
This annual exhibition is in coordination with the City of Hancock’s Heikinpäivä mid-winter celebration on January 28 and Kalevala Day on February 28.
