Nordic Studies Program will kick off the new year with an education tech talk, Social-Emotional Skills in the Digital Age, by Mervi Pänkäläinen and Inka-Kristiina Hanhivaara. They will talk about Mightifier, a digital social-emotional learning tool.

Embassy of Finland in Washington D.C. is hosting the Mind-Building exhibition, which presents Finnish public libraries and library architecture throughout time. The exhibition will be open for public every first Tuesday of the month from February until June (February 4, March 3, April 7, May 5 and June 2, 2020), from 4pm to 7pm.
Featured poets include: Gary Boelhower, Daniel and Sandra Oyinloye, James (Jim) Johnson (read by Marlene Wisuri) Sheila Packa, Steve Leppälä, and Johan Ludvig Runeberg (read by Hanna Erpestad). A special Finnish treat, "Runeberg Torte" (Runebergintorttu) in honor of the poet, will be served.
