Visit four homes built by or connected to Finns or Finnish-Americans in a tour hosted by the Finnish-American Heritage Association of Ashtabula. Bethany Lutheran Church is included on the tour, and the Finnish American Cultural Center in Ashtabula will be open from 3:30-5 p.m.

WI: Viola Turpeinen Day

Little Finland, a museum compound near Hurley, annually recognizes Viola Turpeinen, the first woman accordionist star in America.  The second-generation Finnish-American, beginning in the 1920s she played the Finnish dance circuit in the upper mid-west region of Michigan / Wisconsin / Minnesota.
