At Englewood Arts Center: "Messiaen: Quartet for the End of Time" by Ainomäe Ensemble. Born in Estonia, Silver moved with his family to Finland in 1990. He was accepted into the celebrated Sibelius Academy to study with Hannu Kiiski and Arto Noras, ultimately receiving his Masters degree.

The legend of St. Urho says he chased the grasshoppers out of ancient Finland, thus saving the grape crop and the jobs of Finnish vineyard workers. Communities celebrate the accomplishment with parties and festivities decorated in the traditional green (for grasshoppers) and purple (for grapes).
Head to Menahga and enjoy a variety of events in celebration of St. Urho, the Finnish Saint who led the grasshoppers out of the grape fields! Join the fun and meet St. Urho at the Detroit area Finnish Center. A dinner of corned beef, cabbage and fish will be served. Finn Folk will provide the music.
Finnish American Society Milwaukee and our Finn Kids Club will meet for a day of Finn friends, Finn Fun, Delicious Finn Food, Crafts and talk a little Finn with our Friends (ages 4-18).
