Michel Wendell

A native of Finland, Michel Wendell is the general partner and co-founder of Nexit Ventures, which invests in small, emerging tech-based businesses in Finland and the Nordics, to bring them to the U.S. market.

When he moved to the San Francisco Bay area more than 25 years ago, he was among the first “Finnish techies” in Silicon Valley. In 2009 Michel became the Honorary Consul of Finland for northern California, a post he held for 10 years.

In addition, Michel has served on the board of Silicon Vikings, an organization of Nordic businesses in the Silicon Valley. He was involved with Nordic Innovation House and is an advisor for the Institute of European Studies at the University of California Berkeley.

Michel and his wife, Kicka, now make their home in Austin, Texas.
