Mia Filardi

Mia Filardi is a Program Coordinator at Fulbright Finland Foundation. Having no Finnish heritage herself, Mia was first introduced to Finnish culture through exchange students that she hosted in her house as a child. She then spent a year on an AFS exchange program in Joensuu before earning her Bachelor’s degree in Finnish Language and International Studies at the University of Washington. She received a Fulbright-Tampere University Graduate Award to complete a Master’s in Peace, Mediation, and Conflict Research at Tampere University, during which time she also worked as the first Executive Assistant at Finlandia Foundation National. She is fluent in Finnish, and currently lives in Tampere, where she plays and coaches ice hockey in her spare time. She is super excited to represent the YLB from Finland during her term on the board.
