Raivaaja Foundation Becomes FFN’s First Heritage Affiliate
Finlandia Foundation National is proud to announce a landmark moment in its national network with the designation of Raivaaja Foundation as its very first Heritage Affiliate. This new category of affiliation recognizes organizations whose essential work lies in preserving, documenting, and interpreting Finnish-American history—and Raivaaja Foundation stands as a powerful inaugural partner. As the steward of the remarkable legacy of Raivaaja, the influential Finnish-American newspaper that connected communities across generations and continents, the Raivaaja Foundation embodies the very spirit of cultural preservation and historical continuity that this program was created to honor.
By welcoming Raivaaja Foundation in this new role, FFN affirms the vital importance of archives, publications, and cultural memory in sustaining Finnish America. This affiliation not only celebrates Raivaaja Foundation’s dedication to safeguarding over a century of history, but also marks an exciting step forward in expanding how FFN engages with heritage-focused organizations. Together, we are strengthening the bridge between past and present—ensuring that the stories, voices, and experiences of Finnish Americans continue to inform and inspire generations to come.
With that, tervetuloa! Together, we welcome Raivaaja Foundation to FFN.
