As Spring Unfolds, So Do We: Finlandia Foundation’s Updated Mission Statement

Renewing Our Mission, Strengthening Our Future

Dear friends,

We are still reeling from National Sauna Week 2025 reaching 500,000+ views and seeing a 400% increase in followers—a testament to the growing interest in Finnish culture in the U.S. So to those of you who just joined us, we say: Tervetuloa! Welcome!

As the premier source of Finnish culture in America, we believe that heritage is preserved through people. By sharing the stories, traditions, and innovations of a small Northern nation—and an even smaller Finnish-American community—we fulfill our mission to keep history alive and thriving.

From sauna, music, and design to education, innovation, collaboration, heritage, culture, and well-being, we’re proud to bring you the best of Finland and Finnish-America. Thank you for trusting us as your connection to Finnish America, Finnish-American history, and modern-day Finland!

With this growing momentum, we are excited to share that Finlandia Foundation National is refining its mission statement—not to change who we are, but to strengthen our impact. This refresh is part of our Strategic Plan 2024-2028, ensuring that we continue to serve Finnish-Americans, Finns, and Friends of Finland with even greater clarity and purpose.

Through expanded programming, increased engagement, and the preservation of vital cultural assets—including the Finnish American Heritage Center—we are more dedicated than ever to bridging connections, supporting education and the arts.

As we approach our 75th anniversary in 2028, we invite you to join us in shaping the next chapter of Finlandia Foundation National. Together, we are keeping Finnish culture alive, relevant, and thriving for generations to come.

Yhdessä – Together,

Finlandia Foundation National
