Pertti Lindfors, a Finnish-American attorney in San Francisco, established the Pertti Lindfors Legal Studies Fund and P.J.C. Lindfors Legal Scholarship  to encourage cross-cultural study and understanding by law students in Finland and the United States.
Roope Marttila of Finland is pursuing his Master of Laws (LL.M.) at Columbia Law School in New York City.

Eligible candidates:

  • are citizens of Finland who have either
    a). applied to and are awaiting acceptance to
    b). have been accepted to, or
    c). are currently enrolled in a law school within the United States that is approved by the American Bar Association 
  • are citizens of the United States who have either 
    a). applied to and are awaiting acceptance to

    c). are currently enrolled in the law faculty of a Finnish university
  • have successfully completed the first year in an American law school or in a Finnish law faculty

Scholarship awards range from $1,000-$3,000. Awards will be made and recipients notified in April 2017.

Monies will be forwarded after proof of enrollment for that academic year has been received by FFN.
