A celebration of the epic Finnish tale with choral music, folkdancing, refreshments and featured presenter Dr. Börje Vähämäki, one of the FFN Centenary Lecturers. His topic, "Kalevala and the World View of the Finns," is about Finnish Identity, how it has been formed by historical events, trends, and by Finland’s geographical and political realities.
"Independent Finland: A North American Perspective" is a special program by the five FFN Centenary Lecturers---Tom Dubois, Sharon Franklin-Rahkonen, Peter MacKeith, Börje Vähämäki and Marianne Wargelin---in a discussion moderated by Jon Saari at FinnFest USA.
The Finnish-American Club of Tucson will host a program featuring FFN Centenary Lecturer Börje Vähämäki, who will speak about "Film, Literature and Finnish Identities."
