is the most important private source of support for Finnish culture in the United States.

Membership

Foundation

Finlandia Foundation National is the most important source of support for Finnish and Finnish-American culture in the United States of America. We were founded in 1953 as a non-profit cultural and educational organization. Our purpose is to cultivate closer relations between Finland and the United States, and to strengthen the bonds of friendship among Finnish-Americans and others interested in our culture and heritage.

Finlandia Foundation is a cultural handshake across the sea, and a living memorial. We provide grants, scholarships and cultural programs designed to enrich the Finnish-American experience. Our membership is open to all friends of Finland. Finlandia Foundation National special funds are established in honor of individuals and organizations. Currently there are funds designated for education, heritage, festivals, sciences, music, visual and performing arts, legal and medical studies, and athletics.

Donations

All donations to Finlandia Foundation National are matched up to $75,000 annually, tax deductible, and are applied 100% to programs - no percentage of donations are used for administrative expenses.
